At times I noticed that my rear wheels seem to be slanting in at the top like the old vw's. Most of the time they look to be straight up and down. Is this normal?

The AWD has independent rear suspension I.E. Hyundai Multi-Link is it's name. Most suspension of this style needs to run at least .5 negative to 1.0 negative camber. You will see this on most BMW's as they have their form of IRS. Just watch for inner tire wear. Otherwise you should be fine as it is.
