I was driving it yesterday in normal mode, I Automatically put it in sport mode after starting the car. But yesterday I purposely switched to normal mode for awhile.. it sure does shift often and smoothly.. as good as any automatic or better in some cases.. I would think that it would be cheaper to build then a conventional automatic as well. That’s once all the development is paid for, etc. we’ll see how long the clutch lining lasts..

I still hope for an ability to personalize the shifting and Engine Management. I'd like to be able to:
  • Add more engine braking overall.
  • change the first gear clutch engagement to be quicker and at lower revs, like it does when you do a hill start with brake assist but do it that way 100% of the time.

I think your best bet is to manually row it. Figure out the gear selector. It is your friend-- once you understand how it works. No paddle shift, but seems to work for me with the "manual" up/down gear selector.

Unfortunately, with the engine braking...I think it is more of a compression/timing issue. Sorry, not much there and not much help with your question.

Definitely select "Sport Mode" when you start it up.
