Not EV but I was offered extended warrany when I bought my Venue form Hyundai, salesman knew better than to offer it on the Kona.

 

I have been offered extended warranties covering various parts of the car (interior, paint, engine, maintenance, etc.) on virtually every car I have ever bought. Have never seen the need to purchase any of them, especially with today's manufacturer's basis warranties that cover much longer time periods. It's just part of the automobile industry's sales procedures. They are pretty much pure profit for the dealer, so if they can get even a few people to go for them, it is money in the bank for them.

 

I got the bumper to bumper 10yr/100k warranty. It saved me on my kia a few times so it's worth it to me. It ony added a grand to my price and I paid the otd cash price i wanted and not a penny more.

 

Warranties are worthless. I had a/c problem and the dealer wanted $200 to diagnose the problem. I refused. So I cancelled it.

 

We are giving our Kona EV to one of our children. I did not realize the original warranty does not transfer so we bought one so they are totally covered.

 

My CA dealer told me that it can be transferred for a fee by the finance department.
