You could buy some spacers so that the steelies fit over the brakesHello All,
Very happy with my 2022 Kona N! But I am having a bit of difficulty researching replacement wheels and rubber for Winter driving here in Canada.
The dealership told me that steelies won't fit over the calipers (no kidding!) and did not have any wheel recommendations so I am looking for some cheap winter wheel alternatives, and if possible move to an 18".
Does anyone have any experience or thoughts specifically for the Kona N?
Much appreciated!
I was told the same thing by my tire store with regards to the wheels.Hello All,

lol ya I saw those! I was hoping to save a little for the winter wheels, find something just to get through those winter months and maybe drop a size if able.Think drsgbriggs bought some Fast Wheels for his Kona N, but I don't think they're cheap LOL.
On the Kona N they are different. Are the rotors and calipers different on the 2022 N? I’ve got a 21 Ultimate and I got Blizzaks and 16” steel rims. Got them from Tirerack.com. I got through some really rough weather in NY without any problem.
Not sure if you got your issue resolved. Tire Rack and Discount Tire have updated their sites and now have some wheel options for the Kona N. For winter tires and wheel I recommend a -1 size to get additional tread depth as you will go from a 235/40/19 to a 235/45/18; the added tread depth will help with tire wear and maybe decrease the stiffness a bit in the suspension. If 17' fit you would go that route for even more tire side wall.Hello All,

Thanks RedN much appreciated. I hadn't found any local yet, I figured I would give it a little time for sites to get the specs updated, and just looking for a banger I that is cheap to replace from pothole dmg in the winter. I'll go check them outNot sure if you got your issue resolved. Tire Rack and Discount Tire have updated their sites and now have some wheel options for the Kona N. I got bronze 18x8 Motegi RM131 with winter tires for my winter setup. The motegi go for $200+ a rim. I originally bought the motegi for my Elantra as my summer wheel. .Thanks RedN much appreciated. Would you provide feedback on how the ride comfort and handling quality has been since the cross climates ? How about highway noise?Been ogling tires and wheels for weeks and finally pulled the trigger on Crossclimate 2 Michelins. on Motege 118s in 18 x 8 inch..For my Kona N.. Hope they soften the ride a bit and as we get too much rain here they should do well to lower the hydroplane issues....Film at 11... I'll give an update if anyone cares in a few weeks..
I'm still very happy with my choice of the CC2s....The road noise is much quieter and the ride is softer. The harshness of bumps and transitions on the road with the OEMs has been very much reduced. The wear factor is sooo much better than the soft OEMs. The best part of the change is that they handle as well as the OEMs for my type of driving. Turn in and grip seems very predictable and consistent... If I was to do it again I would use the OEM wheels and add CC2s...saving the cost of wheels. But, I do very much like the look of the new wheels and dropping down to the 18s. As we get several months of rain here, these tires are perfect. Almost 2K miles on the new tires and I now am much happier with the car.Would you provide feedback on how the ride comfort and handling quality has been since the cross climates ? thanks
I purchased my Kona N in February, so not a lot of winter driving experience with it this season. I will say, that my Nokian Hakkapeliittas performed flawlessly in the snow and ice. I've had them on my last 4 vehicles, and wouldn't consider going with any other tire. I went with 18" RTX winter rims to save a bit of money. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to experience how the FWD Kona managed in REALLY deep snow, (as most of our snow fell before January this winter), but it sounds like the different traction modes are quite capable of adjusting to the road conditions. It's the 3rd Kona I've owned, and I've yet to be stuck, not bad, considering how brutal our prairie winters can be.Please share your experiences with your tire choice and winter driving from this past year. I’m in Montreal and about to pull the trigger and buy the Kona N but would like to know what to expect for next winter. Thanks!
