After about a month and change of having the above mentioned on the Kona, I decided to take it off. My MPG's were absolute trash (24-26MPG). After taking it off, I'm already at the 30MPG mark. I know my tires affect the MPG a little, but thats ok.

Anyone see these drastic decreases in MPG with their setup?

Even without a basket - when my thule rack is on I take a couple MPG hit.

Did you lift it as well?

I experienced the same - took my basket off, and was still getting hit with just the crossbars on.
And nope, no lift. Stock suspension. Thanks!

Yeah, the Kona is a pretty light car so it is strongly affected by extra drag. I am considering selling my rack, and just using the crossbars.

But it sucks because the roof rack looks so cool 😭

Completely agreed! It looks awesome! But yeah, the significant drop in MPG really sucks. I decided I'll just put the rack/basket on when I really need to use it, other than that, it's going to sit in the garage.
