I just got my second hand kona (nov 2023) last week. When I did a test drive everything worked. Also the option to turn of the speed limit notification. But when I recieved my kona last week, the option is still there but I can't put it in that mode because then it says "vehicle connection isn't stable". Probably because of a new update before? So it is super annoying. My dealer doesn't know how to deal. He tried some updates I believe. He says we have to wait until an update and that it is a known problem by hyundai netherlands?
Also sometimes I can't get my pedale in D (driving mode). Is that problem related?.
I am very bumped because I don't really enjoy my most expensive purchase ever😪 the beeps are there all the time...

I went through the same situation—in my case, in Spain.

First of all, the dealership will keep telling you to wait for an OTA or a new update to fix it. That won’t solve the issue. The only real solution is to update your instrument cluster to the latest version.

So what’s the problem? They don’t want to do it because it takes time, requires a special cable, and is risky. If they don’t follow the instructions exactly, your entire instrument cluster can freeze and will need to be replaced. That’s what happened to me. And since it involves replacing the full screen, I have no idea how expensive it is—but I’m sure it’s not cheap. Fortunately, they broke mine during the process, so they had to replace it. That was the only way I could get rid of the beeping!

Keep insisting with the dealership, but also contact Hyundai customer support in your country. They can pressure the dealership to proceed with the cluster update.

Good luck!
