Not the kind you took during your youth... But the Limited slip diff used on FWD ? I have read that it is equipped with a brake actuated Limited slip differential?

Sure enough... Brake Actuated Limited Slip Differential.. I know my son has a 330i with that type of diff, It’s cheaper to implement and less effective in use-than a Mechanical clutch LSD..
It acts like limited slip by pulsing the free spinning wheels brakes. Much like the "poor man locker" using the e-brake to control traction.
