Kona N Subwoofer

I recently purchased a 2022 Kona N, and it's been great so far. My main gripe is that the sound system is underwhelming. I expected a bit more from it being a higher end Harmon Kardon system. I was searching around and saw that Europe models have the add on option to upgrade the subwoofer. Does any one know if this is possible to do on the US versions? If it's a plug and play solution that doesn't require hacking into audio signal cables that would be amazing. Here is the EU woofer. Has anyone here attempted this? Or found another solution they are willing to share?

Cheers!

Have you EQ’d yours yet? With the stock settings the HK sound system is really bass heavy. I found that decreasing the bass and upping the mids and treble made a huge difference. I didn’t do much-just a couple of clicks in each category, but I found it really livened things up.

Yes I've tried playing with the EQ settings, and haven't been able to find something that sounds good to me.

I know what you mean the rear sub should of had an amp built into it.
Would suggest one of two options -

Audiofrog makes an improved sub that with some modification will fit in the factory sub location. You can read all about it on Crutchfield.com.

I knew that wouldn't be enough for me, so I went aftermarket and added a JL amp, Audiocontrol LC2i LOC & 2 JL 8 inch ported sub boxes. (I started with one, but added a 2nd one) Added minimal weight and gave up some cargo space - but the difference is night & day in bass response.
That's odd - I am sure my UK model has a Krell system with sub - I will double check tomorrow.

Sounds reasonable to me but would be much improved if Hyundai had bothered to fit just SOME soundproofing in the vehicle - yes I know it is weight factor but I would have preferred a few tenths of a second off the 0-60 if I got a quieter ride!

Shark Racing in Korea offers a 7 piece soundproofing kit for the Kona. According to the write-up, they are lighter than OEM.
What does the amp under the passengers front seat drive?

Looked it up, the amp drives all speakers, subwoofer included.
