News recently broke about the Kona EV, great news for Hyundai fans that have been waiting for a product like this. Not entirely surprising though since the also recent Hyundai Ioniq EV provided a hint of that.

But back to the Kona EV...on the surface we know it'll have a driving range above 390km/242miles. But can the rest of it do some damage to Bolt EV sales?

Design wise, the Kona looks a lot better than the Bolt so long as they remove the weird bulky wheel arches. And there seems to be a problem with the Bolt's driver seat comfort too, heard it digs into you and makes long trips painful.

If the Kona comes with good regenerative braking tech, competitive range and good looks, I can see it becoming more popular than the Bolt.

What sort of range do you think will position the Kona well among the Bolt since you seem to know a lot about it?

Well they have been doing some small things to trim weight, light weight steel being one of them. I bet when the EV model is ready they might include more weight saving efforts. Electric SUV's are a big deal so they might still see room to include more.
