Hey guys,

New the forum but an avid loyalist of Hyundai vehicles. Currently driving a Genesis but looking to upgrade to subcompact/SUV. The Kona seems to be a perfect fit and I've been reading lots of positive things online. I absolutely love its styling but I'm a little disappointed it only comes with an automatic transmission. I know this is pretty standard in this class however. I look forward to reading your early impressions!

Welcome.

You might be in for a surprise because depending on the Genesis you had this will be a downgrade. You definitely won't see much luxury here although we will get leather seats. Are there any minor luxuries you're looking for here?

I have a first generation genesis coupe, so its not nothing like the new luxury sedans. I'm not really in the market for something luxurious, I'm more interested in finding something that offers greater utility and obviously improved technology.

Good choice and that move of yours might speak too what a lot of other folks are up to because I have been seeing less people in entry-level luxury cars and instead in higher trim entry-level compacts like this. Do you at least like the type of "luxury" that's offered here with the Kona?

I really like the exterior styling of the Kona, and the utility that it seems to provide. While the interior is relatively simplistic, they certainly made the most of it by adding body color accents and stitching. I really don't think there's much luxury to be found here, but at its current price point it'll be a worthy option for those looking for a stylish, affordable crossover.
