Assuming the new Kona has the same powertrain as the latest Niro EV, I'm able to plot a comparison of motor output based on road speed. It has to be done that way to account apples-to-apples for differences in gearing. Essentially, Hyundai/Kia have used a smaller motor that has 35% less torque but 30% more favorable gearing. On top of that Hyundai configured it with 10 kW more peak power than Kia which I expect was intended to maintain the same acceleration performance as the outgoing model. You can see that by comparing the area under the curve for the 'before and after' power curves up to 100 km/h (or 60 mph) they’re about the same.

2024 will have approx 15 more horsepower & probably a little heavier. Mileage has been estimated to go up to Hyundai’s conservative 260 on a full charge. Hyundai is supposedly going to release all specs at April Paris car show.
