Today I got my 1.6 turbo Kona a custom exhaust deleted catalytic converter, deleted resonator, magnaflow mufflers. Did this to go with the DTE piggyback tune, cold air intake, snow performance water methanol injection already installed. I just like going fast.

Nice, can you post some pictures, and do't forget to switch out the resonance tube too. It gets rid of the "stumble" in normal mode when starting to go in 1st gear.

Just remember to use high hold hairspray all over the tube and the inside boot to seal the turbo boot on all removed connections. I have T-clamps coming Friday to help seal better too.

I take it you're from Europe? 1.6T or 1.0 motor? I noticed you said Magnaflow Mufflers. The US model only has one muffler. If you don't mind we'd appreciate some photos and maybe even a sound clip if possible.

Just a few questions;

Any difference in ambient noise? Is it helpful in performance have you felt any difference? Difficulty level for installation (1-10) any problems while installing? I do appreciate the input and any information further information you can provide. I'm sure others would also.:smile:

This was changed out by DDfast in Auburn WA.
Watching him get to the 2 clamps in (red) one one each side was not easy due to the lack of room also these clamps have covers that the factory puts on so you have to pop them off to get to the bolt on the clamp. Then you have 2 (blue) under the heat wrap and rubber hose you have loosen to get the factory baffle out when doing this the baffle has raised ridges on each side that the hose slips over it so it will be a challenge to get out and to put back in so using a little motor oil will help in slide back into each side of the hose.

Also you have to slide the baffle with hoses to the passenger side to get enough room to wiggle the other side out from the turbo.

Using new 4 new clamps would be recommended and when you place the 2 outer clamps place them on the inside of the new deletes ridges this keeps the hoses from blowing off, tighten the 2 out clamps last after you wiggle it back into place same as you did to remove basically in backwards order.

*You will also notice how much oil sheen and a little oil drip out of the turbo side depending on mileage ( I have 4500) so catch cans are in design now and will be installed very soon.

Have not noticed any really noticed any sound difference or performance may be different for others though.

I noticed when I put my straight tube in that I no longer have "stumble" in normal mode when starting out. I also noticed I get a 500 rpm extension on when peak HP/torque drops off. No real notice of any more noise though. I don't like how mine went back on. I am waiting for some T-clamps, and found out you should use high hold hairspray on all the connections to help seal and hold. Those shields are a pain in the ars to deal with in my case. They hinder manipulation of the boot for proper stretch or pull to set them right . I hope the hairspray will help this next time.

You said you are going to buy a new rear exhaust, any ideas when we will get a review from you?

Thanks for asking. I'm waiting on a Hyundai Allstate promotion check for $500.00. I decided not to go with the JUN B.L. Dual Exhaust System, you have to cut the rear lower facia. Not going to that. So, I will be purchasing the TUIX System as shown below;





Everything will be color matched. Soon as it's acquired and installed I'll post photos here and in the; "What did you do to you Kona today thread." . I wish I could approximate as to the time frame but with waiting for the $500 from the Hyundai Allstate Promotion and shipping from Korea I don't just don't know.:smile:

It comes with the exhaust actually. The front and side facias are extra cost. But what the heck.

He can't answer, he is banned. I have a question, if you need to go in for a recall or some weird thing wrong with your car, do you plan on taking all the Meth, DTE ( 3 mins to take off) and you were talking about a wastegate on another thread. Do you plan to pull these off or are going to roll the dice they won't care? Are you in the US or Canada or what country?
