Door won't lock using button on door handle

Happens to me occasionally. Not sure if it’s same problem as yours, but main cause for me is having key fob in my pocket and standing too close to door. Car won’t lock because it thinks the keyfob is inside the car. If I move back from door it locks okay. Same when my wife has her key in her purse and purse too close.

Only other time it’s happened is when one of doors is not properly closed.
