Is there a problem with simply using a USB cable? In your phone's settings you probably have the Kona set as top exclusive priority and need to make your home network #1.

If your phone is old it might be part of the problem. New software detects mostly everything automatically based on usage and prioritizes accordingly.

I would USB cable until you buy a new model. Same thing happened when I converted from a portable Sirius XM radio to using the app. The app is so much better as long as your phone is only a few years old.
