I just brought her last week and Maybe a dumb question but when I turn on the recirculation button it keeps turning off at random intervals. Yes the AC is on. I hate the smell of other car's fumes. How do I keep it on?

Just a wild guess, but it could be a setting in the car to prevent the temp from getting too cold or hot in the cabin? Older cars with this would roast or freeze occupants. Just a guess.?. I have same hvac but haven't been in car long enough with that on to see if it cuts out.

When you turn the knob to the left for the coldest setting , recirculate comes on automatically. I turn mine all the way and when I see the recirculate I go one notch back to the right and the light goes off and you are back in fresh air mode.

Ours seems to have "learned" that we keep it on recirculate.
I very rarely have to turn it on.
We bought in August and had to turn it on a couple of time on the way home, and a few (??) times after that.
Give it a try and time, just make sure it's on when you turn the car off.
