This worked great on other car forums to help people around the country to get an idea what kind of deals folks are getting/paying.

Please just tell us the following:

State:
Trim:
Options:
MSRP:
Price: {include Destination Charge}
Also say if you got a Military, College or some other discount.

No need to list the taxes, dealer fees, title, plates etc. as every state is different.

Thanks!

If I purchased taking in my TrueCar price, I could've gotten a Limited AWD for $23,400 plus tax & license but decided to lease and got just what I wanted in ext/int color for just under $21k. I used the BoostUp from Hyundai and they matched my $500. Never leased before but made sense to me w the added incentives and the possibility of EV being available in WA state in 3 years at the end of the lease.

State: NY tax/title/reg (bought in NC though)
Trim: LTD AWD (2018)
Options: carpeted mats, dual usb, FAK, mud guards
MSRP: 27,305 (26,000 before options/destination)
Price: 26,000 OTD (24866 plus tax/fees -2k in "retail bonus cash" incentives, not sure which)

Was hoping to get closer to 25 but inventory was disappearing as we were negotiating.

Terraelise, that does not seem like a total rip, My sel awd with added package was 23700, with out taxes ! This was JULY sale special with about $2k discount BS. After all added up. 6% tax, delivery, etc., it was otd $25,600 range. Package was $1500 I believe ? Enjoy it, crying will blur you new view ! U were in need, could have rented a car for a month or two while shopping, Then add this into the better price you might have found, and it would probably be only hundreds different ? My guess of $1k possible savings if lucky, but guessing here, and that would be about a 4% more off of 22k. 10-12 % is usually the best range, it seems, off list. Again not much dealing with Hyundia sales . College and military discounts could have been another $1500 if usable, at sale specials.

2018 Kona SEL in Black with the Tech Package

Went to the dealership last night and they we're quoting me 25,216.99 OTD. I ended up walking away telling them I wanted 24,500 OTD. There's not any other dealerships in my immediate area with this car plus the tech package. Should I stick to my guns here or give in?

If it helps, here's a breakdown from the pricing sheet:

Market Value Selling Price: 24070.00
Discount: 1163.85
Rebate: 1500.00
Adjusted Price: 21406.15
All Season Mats: 299.00
Appearance Pkg: 499.00
N2-TPMS: 199.00
Total Purchase: 22403.15
Taxable Fees: 148.49
Documentation Service: 699.00
Tax: 1812.54
Non-Tax Fees: 153.81
Balance: 25216.99

Thanks for the help guys.

From our prospective, and being in the business for years....they have the exact vehicle your looking you say and your only approx. $700 apart, you have three options 1) pay their price and get the vehicle you want, $700 in the long run is only pennies a month for piece of mind 2) go back and offer to split the difference and pay $350 get the car you want or 3) stick to your guns and walk away then don't get the vehicle you wanted. Most of the time the dealer will spilt the difference as both parties safe face!! Also maybe at this point in the deal ask for the sales manager, he's got the final say.

Warranty !!!!! Not sure of each state, but in NJ it starts when it arrives at the dealership ! Been burned on this by two other makes ! That price should be for no miles !!!!! Four months and i don't have 1300 miles. Sure it is me, but they are not nice. Keep the mats, tell them to take it off, you will probably buy aftermarket anyway ! New use to be 50 miles or less, now something like 5,000 miles ? Wait until the end of month/ year ! Quote depressiation already on it. My 2 cents, but only about $300 less then I paid for sel + package with NJ sales tax, no miles ! Rug mats included to, still sitting in bag. Best of luck deciding, they will always get more in stock !

2019 Kona Ultimate AWD with carpeted floor mats, cargo net, cargo tray and rear bumper applique. $30,240 MSRP. Paid $26,829.50 plus $189.50 doc fee. $1,250 rebate from Hyundai. The rest was dealer discount. So 4.52% off invoice. Apparently I am supposed to get a $500 gift card if I complete an insurance application with Allstate. If that happens in my mind it will be 6.3% off invoice.

We bought our first Hyundai, a new 2019 Kona Limited, FWD, Thunder Gray / Black/Gray/Lime interior, 2/28/2019.

It had port installed options of $390 (Carpet Floor Mats, Cargo Net, Cargo Tray, First Aid Kit, Rear Bumper Applique).

MSRP was $26,920 with port installed options and freight.

We paid $22,703.78 + sales tax, title fees.

Our discount including the Hyundai rebates, and dealer rebates, and reduction in MSRP by the dealer, was 15.7%.

We paid cash, so no financing or trade to mess with the reduction from MSRP to selling price.

Bottom line is simply getting a discount of ~15% off MSRP is very reasonable.
